Background
On July 1, 1966 Herbert A. Bregman backed by the Boston firm of Braman & Company purchased Harry Wunsch CPA in Port Chester New York. Harry Wunsch retired. The firm changed its name to Braman Wunsch & Company, Braman Bregman & Company and ultimately Bregman & Company P.C. in 1977.
Bregman & Company P.C. opened its first Stamford office in 1967. In 1971 the firm closed its Port Chester office (maintaining the telephone number) and expanded its Stamford office.
On September 1, 1986 Owen W. Bregman joined the firm after working for various other CPA firms in Washington D.C. and New York City.

Our Team
Owen W. Bregman
Owen Bregman has over thirty years experience in public accounting. He received his B.B.A. degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a registered investment advisor with LPL Financial. He has served and continues to serve as an officer and director on numerous charitable organizations in Fairfield County.

Herbert A. Bregman
Herbert Bregman is the founding partner of our firm. He received his B.S. degree from Notheastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a member of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York Societies of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former director and organizer of Patriot National Bank. He has served and continues to serve as an officer and director on numerous charitable organizations in Stamford.

Eliot M. Bassin
Eliot Bassin is a Partner at Bregman & Company, P.C. He is experienced in providing tax, audit and business advisory services to a diverse client base including companies in the following industries: professional services, manufacturing, real estate, financial services, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. He is also experienced in the performance of "Yellow Book" engagements, as well as audits conducted under the Single Audit Act. He earned a Bachelor of Accountancy, Cum Laude, from the George Washington University and a M.S. in Taxation from Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Tal Avior
Tal Avior is a staff accountant at Bregman & Company, P.C. Tal has 1 year of experience in public accounting. He is experienced in providing tax preparation, audit and bookkeeping services. He has transitioned into the accounting field after 7 years of operations management and internal accounting experience in the distribution and logistics business. Tal received a Bachelor’s Degree of Science with a Major in Accounting (CPA Qualifying) from the City University of New York Brooklyn College. Tal also received a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts with a Major in Economics and a Minor in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Stonybrook. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tal passed the CPA exam in 2010.
